About us

We are a group of UVA students, staff, academia who live in the city of Charlottesville.  The thread that bonded us together is our love for the Lord Jesus, His people and Charlottesville.  We consider a privilege to serve our campus community, especially the international students group.  We hope this Fellowship will become for many their home away from home.

Seeker Friendly Group:

We want to open the Bible for non believers to explore and ask questions. The main focus of this group is “Who is Jesus?” To this end we often use the New Testament Gospel as a basis for this group study. We present Jesus’ teaching, self identification, and His interactions with people as a basis for discussions. This group is often led by experienced Christians who are equipped to answer some of the non Christians questions and objections. This group’s aim is not to indoctrinate, but to provide space for people to explore the truthfulness of Jesus’ claims. Our expectation of this group is that people walk away with a curiosity satisfied, or to whet their appetite for more and to appreciate how Jesus is relevant to their lives today.

English Group:

This Bible study is conducted entirely in English using an English language Bible. It is a seeker friendly group open to English speakers, both Christian and non-Christian. Everyone is encouraged to use English during the group meeting. The purpose of this group is to use the English Bible to study the word of God. The level and depth of the study may not be as stringent as the Christian Life Growth Group. This group is oriented around the study of specific books in the Bible. There is no requirement for everyone to take a turn leading the Bible study.

Christian Growth Group:

We strive to lead this group through in-depth Bible studies and hope to prepare the members to lead Bible studies in the future. We use the inductive Bible study method to study the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. We emphasize the meaning of the Bible passage and the context in which the story was written. More importantly, we aim to make the passage relevant and applicable to the world we live in. We believe in showing the Bible as the Living Word that speaks to our lives today as much as it did in ancient times. Everyone in this group will have a chance to lead the Bible study at least once. The scheduled Bible study leader is required to prepare and distribute study questions to the group one week before the study.
